About

Why TxZen Exists

I started TxZen because I couldn’t find what I was looking for anywhere else: a single place that tracks tanker shipping markets through the lens of an investor, not just an industry insider.

Most tanker shipping coverage is written for chartering desks and fleet operators. Earnings call transcripts, rate movements, fleet utilization data, and geopolitical disruptions. The raw material is out there, but almost nobody is connecting it to what matters for equity investors: how these signals show up in stock prices, dividends, and forward earnings.

TxZen fills that gap. I aggregate real-time tanker and shipping news, write original analysis on how freight market dynamics affect publicly traded tanker companies, and track the stocks I follow most closely, including Frontline (FRO), Scorpio Tankers (STNG), DHT Holdings (DHT), Teekay Tankers (TNK), and Hafnia (HAFN).

What You’ll Find Here

Tanker Shipping News Feed – A curated, real-time feed of headlines from leading maritime publishers. Rates, regulations, fleet movements, safety incidents, and geopolitical developments, all in one place.

TxZen Originals – Long-form analysis connecting tanker market events to investor decision-making. When VLCC rates spike, when the Strait of Hormuz gets disrupted, when the shadow fleet cracks, I write about what it means for the stocks.

Stock Analysis – Moving average breakdowns and technical setups for the tanker equities I track. Updated regularly so you can see where price sits relative to key levels.

Fear & Greed Index – A daily market sentiment snapshot to help frame whether broader conditions are working for or against tanker positions.

My Approach

I’m a self-taught niche investor who went deep on one sector rather than spreading thin across the market. Tanker shipping drew me in because the fundamentals are visible: rates are published daily, fleet data is trackable, and geopolitical catalysts move earnings in ways you can actually model.

I don’t claim to be a Wall Street analyst. I’m an independent operator who builds tools and writes analysis to support my own research process, and I share it because I think other tanker-focused investors can benefit from the same framework.

TxZen is not a tip sheet. It’s a research workspace that I happen to publish.
